The base of the whole official and social system of product quality assurance, necessary for all international integrations, are laboratories accredited for testing and calibration that have recognizable and comparable practices and management systems, compatible with JUS ISO/IEC 17025:2001 standard. One of basic assumptions of our “integration into Europe” is the creation of a system of accredited laboratories. Having in mind the need to familiarize a wider engineering public with form, essence and character of the standard JUS ISO/IEC 17025:2001, that contains all the requests that laboratories for testing and calibration have to met if they want to present themselves as having quality system, that they are technically competent and capable to give (present) technically valuable results, the author gave some extended clarifications of points that aren’t, after his practical experience, clear enough to wide range of professionals or may provoke some doubts.
