AN ANALYSIS OF POSSIBLE APPLICATION OF RFID TECHNOLOGY IN MACHINing FIXTURE

The analysis of possible application of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology in machining fixture for metal cutting manufacturing assembly/disassembly process is presented in this paper. An analysis involves hardware and software components that designed system for assembly/disassembly needs to have. Suggested structure of the system should provide easier and faster identification of basics fixture elements. The paper presents the overall structure of applied technology, description of particular system segments and their implementation in laboratory conditions. The paper concludes with final remarks, discussing advantages and disadvantages of the developed system, as well as the directions of future research.
