Air transport is one of the major generators of greenhouse gases that have a negative impact on the environment. Therefore, numerous solutions and recommendations related to the reduction of emissions of aircraft have been developed. Given the continuous growth of global air transport, it is necessary to establish a methodology that can be effectively applied in the monitoring system of air traffic, in order to decrease emissions. This paper defines the impact of aircraft emissions to global pollution and local air quality around airports, by analyzing the existing methods, especially with regard to ICAO recommendations related to aircraft emissions and / or its systems: power unit, APU, etc. The conclusion of this paper shows the options and recommendations for the application of methods for defining the level of pollution in the airtransport system of the Republic of.
