Problems related to energy, by reason of unequal and uneven distribution of energy potentials and resources in the world, surpass countries borders, so problems must be sold in the world's domain. That fact is specially evident this year, when availability of energy resources decreases, while atmospheric pollution and global temperature rise, oil prices reach 145 $/barrel, and energy efficiency becomes strategic goal for the each country. This is why the natural gas now obtains much more importance in the world. His advantages, expressed fully with global climate changes, bring to growth his production and consumption. According to estimates of International Energy Agency (IEA), International Gas Union (IGU), U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and World Energy Council (WEC) the natural gas in 21st century will have the biggest rate of growth from all conventional fuels. The paper deals the basic features of present state and the further development of natural gas in the energy development of world.
