DESIGN OF THE C-CLAMP FOR RAILROAD TRACKS AND TENSOMETRIC CHECK UP

Abstract

In factory "MIN" Svrljig new product is developed. This product (C-clamp) find his use for quickly joint of railroad tracks in cases of specific situations, and also be high differences of daily and night temperatures. C-clamp probes are produced by casting technology from three different materials: steel Č.0561, steel C. 1531, and cast iron ČL.700. Because of the complex form of C-clamp, in program COSMOS Works finite element method (FEM) analysis are accomplished in order to find relation between moment of force and tightening force, and also identification of the C-clamp endings displacements. The tensometric method is used for verification of theoretical results. By these measurements good coincidence of theoretical and experimental results are determined.
